Fall Minis 2013 {Tri Cities TN Family Photographer}

Fall Mini sessions were awesome, as to be expected.  The weather, not so much.  We were able to move schedules around so that we avoided Friday - the coldest day of the weekend - but Saturday morning was still chilly!!  Everyone was great sports, especially all the little ones who didn't even seem to notice.  I loved meeting a few new families this year and always love seeing some of my sweet regulars.  I still can't believe Fall has come and gone...  Where does the time go?

Tutterow Family 2013 {Johnson City, TN Family Photographer}

I could take pictures of this family every single day - what a joy!!  The girls are little angels and talk about a gorgeous family!!  Would you be surprised if I told you mom is a model?  Let's just say, they make my job so very easy.  I loved watching them interact with each other...  Little sister wouldn't leave Daddy's side and big sister wanted to be in every single picture I took.  Such different personalities - love them!!  Enjoy taking a peek at a moment with this sweet family.

Jenna {Johnson City TN Maternity Photographer}

"I think I know a spot we can go..." I told Jenna the day of her session.  She had moved here only a few weeks prior and was in the middle of the pure craziness that happens right before giving birth to your third child (I would know!) - which had been scheduled 3 weeks earlier than expected.  

I'm pretty sure we knew each other in heaven because I've loved this girl since the first time I met her.  Although I must say I do kind of hate her because she's so stinkin beautiful - effortlessly beautiful.  Not fair.  

The sweet baby boy inside that belly is even cuter than I imaged he would be - and his two big sisters love on him like no other.  It's the cutest thing ever.  Such a pleasure to capture this special time in their lives.  

Oh!  And about that spot... it was on a whim and turned out to be one of the most beautiful backgrounds ever!  It captures East Tennesse and all its glory perfectly, wouldn't you say?  Enjoy.

McConnell Family 2013 {Kingsport TN Family Photographer}

The first time I met this adorable family they only had two kiddos and Miss Anna wasn't even walking yet!  Watching not only the kids grow older, but their family grow in size has been so much fun for me!  I look forward to seeing them each year and it's always an adventure.  =)  Enjoy!!

Arianna {East Tennessee Newborn Photographer}

This sweet little bundle of heaven is my newest neice!  She was such a little angel for her session...  It had been a while since I had a newborn in the studio!!  Welcome to the world Arianna.  We love you!

It's Fall Y'all {Family Photographer in East Tennessee}

"Cherish every moment." said the woman with a sigh, "I'd give anything for them to be small again."  I smiled and kept on pushing my cart full of not-so-well-behaved-at-the-moment children and finished up shopping.  I can't tell you how many sweet ladies have stopped me to say something similar over the years.  I also get lots of, "Sure looks like you have your hands full!" comments too, but those aren't the ones that make me smile and strive to be better.   

Truly being in each moment and doing our best to enjoy it, even if it may be crazy and overwhelming and redundant and sort of terrible at times - to me, is one of the most important things we can do in our lives.  Especially for mothers.  Being a mom is hands DOWN the most difficult, under appreciated and under paid job out there!!  To say it's all fun and joy and tender moments would just be a straight up lie.  It's messy and frustrating.  But it's oh, so amazing and ever important.   

It's a constant goal of mine to "be" with my kids and try to enjoy them in each phase and stage they go through.  I'm never perfect at it (that's for sure!!) but I really do try.  A few weeks ago when the leaves began to fall, I caught all three outside raking.  Of course the boys were taking orders from their leader, big sis.  I grabbed my camera and snuck outside.  These were taken with my 70-200 (non photogs read: huge and heavy zoom lens) so I could be super stealthy and they didn't realize I was out there for a bit.  

Annnnnd... this was the point when they caught me spying on them.  They have such opposite personalities.  Can you tell? 

They could live outside.  If only that were possible because cleaning up after dinner would be so much easier.  Ha!!  All you mothers (and mother figures) out there, keep on being amazing!!!  You're doing SUCH a great job.

DeWeese Family 2013 {Johnson City TN Photographer}

"I have a crazy idea." I said.  "A bed.  In a field.  What do you think?!?"  I wait... and she replies, "I'm up for anything - let's do it!"  I'm pretty sure I jumped up in the air with joy, just like in the movies.  I've honestly been dreaming of this exact session for over a year now and it just hasn't come together.  Until now.  The second I saw the pictures Jenny had sent of what her girls would be wearing, I knew this was the one.  My husband pretty much thought I had gone coo-coo when I asked him if he'd help me bring the old iron bed we have in the garage to a field.  After carrying it all and setting it up for me, he said something like "You better get some good ones."  Ha!!  Thanks babe.  You rock.

Back to this beautiful family: Jenny is getting into photography herself, which I love because she has a greater appreciation for all that goes into it than most.  I simply adore her girls... each of them with such different and distinct personalities.  It's always my goal when photographing anyone, but children especially, to capture those little personalities and tendencies at this exact moment in time.  I hope their parents feel I achieved this.  Such a sweet and stunning family.  I'll try not to share too many images on this one.  Enjoy!     

Can I just add that this little baby was only THREE WEEKS old at this session.  How stinking amazing does this mama look?!?!  Can you say jealous?!  Sorry, had to throw that in there.  We're all thinking it.

Mushet Family 2013 {Kingsport, TN Photographer}

I know this beautiful grandma from church and was so honored when she asked me to take pictures of her family.  Her two sons and their families came into town, as well as her mother at the end of this summer, so it was the perfect chance to get pictures with everyone!!  The Mushet's own a beautiful alpaca farm out in Jonesborough, so this session was shot on their property.  I love seeing families interact with each other, and this family was no exception.  I couldn't resist throwing in a few outtakes... these images usually turn out to be some of my favorites because they capture real life.  And real life, well - it's just not perfect.  =)  Enjoy!!

Addison is ONE!! {Johnson City, TN Children's Photographer}

I've been photographing this sweet girl every since she was a newborn {see her newborn session HERE}.  She has the just the most perfect little personality - I've loved watching her grow into herself and become a determined and independent little girl!  The sad part about this whole story is that her family moved to Georgia a few months ago!!  I'm so happy they made the huge sacrifice of driving all the way from Atlanta for Addi's session.  We started out in downtown Jonesborough and then headed to the studio for her smash the cake.  She didn't want much to do with the cake and kept wanting to wash her hands off.  Typical girl, right?!  Love her to pieces!!  Thanks for sharing your baby girl with me, I will miss seeing you guys every few months!!!  Oh and check out her six month session {HERE}.  

Miss Addi is a BDP Baby Plan baby, so with the completion of her birthday session, her parents got to pick their favorite image from each session throughout her first year and I created a custom storyboard for them (complimentary gift with each completed Baby Plan year!).  I absolutely love these!!!
